Meet Fairmont State University's Solar Army Team Members!

Team Members

Dr. Erica Harvey

Dr. Harvey has been teaching chemistry at Fairmont State University since 1994. She earned her Ph.D. in chemistry at Caltech, and her undergraduate degree at Wellesley College. Her doctoral advisor, “General” Harry Gray, inspired her involvement in the solar army with a talk at the national ACS meeting in 2012.

Allison Moore

Freshman chemistry major at Fairmont State University. She became interested in the Solar Army during an Honors research project. She has been awarded a grant to continue research in the Spring and Summer of 2016.

Chelsea Price

Senior chemistry major at Fairmont State University. She became interested in Solar Army research after taking a course from Dr. Harvey in the Fall of 2015.

Jayce Riley

Fairmont Senior graduate, freshman exercise science major that got into the Solar Army through an honors chemistry project. 

Sean Harwell

First year graduate student in Digital Media, New Literacies, and Learning at Fairmont State University. Undergraduate degree in Secondary Education with a focus in Biology and General Science.

Michael Kingston

Sophomore chemistry major at Fairmont State University.Became interested in the Solar Army project after hearing about it from Dr. Erica Harvey.

Kevin Dudley

BS Chemistry at Fairmont State University. Longstanding interest in solar energy, joined the Solar Army in the spring of 2015 and was awarded a Summer Undergraduate Research Experience grant for research in the summer of 2015.

Jenni Perkins

Graduate of Independence High School in Sophia, WV, started at Fairmont State University in the fall of 2014. She is a biology major and chemistry minor, and joined the solar army because of an honors chemistry project. 

Julia Oliveto

BS Chemistry at Fairmont State University and plans to continue her education in graduate school.

Kelly Humphreys

BS Chemistry at Fairmont State University, followed by WVU School of Medicine. Having always been active and involved in environmental issues, Kelly joined Solar Army Research in the Spring of 2016.  Her brother Shane shares her enthusiasm and also teamed up with the Solar Army during his 8th grade year.
